Rushville Christian Church, an independent Christian Church (Church of Christ) in Rushville, Missouri, is seeking a full-time minister.
Rushville is a small community of 280 residents located between Kansas City and St. Joseph. Rushville Christian Church was established in 1871. Average worship attendance is approximately 100. We are seeking a minister with a strong work ethic who is passionate about serving God, who is passionate about preaching and teaching God’s word, and who desires to see the church grow numerically and spiritually. The ability to work with others, lead by example, and encourage and promote teamwork and fellowship within the church is essential.
It is expected that all applicants meet the criteria for Elder as described in 1 Timothy and Titus. The successful applicant must be a servant-leader willing to get their hands dirty both literally and figuratively. Applicants must have the desire and ability to build relationships with church leadership, church members, and those outside the church. Applicants should understand and appreciate small-town rural life, as well as the opportunities and challenges of a small-town church.
Typical responsibilities will include Sunday morning preaching, teaching and leading various Bible studies as needed, working with the youth minister on youth-related programs and activities, visiting the sick and shut-ins, working with the elders to provide spiritual leadership and direction for the congregation, etc.
