Central Christian Church in Rockford, Illinois has begun a search process to hire a Preaching/Senior minister. This position is a great opportunity for a minister to help lead our congregation in sharing God’s love and message of grace in the Rockford community. Central Christian Church exists to glorify God by reaching people for Jesus and growing them in the Holy Spirit, both locally and globally, so that His kingdom may expand. We strongly desire to serve our community by showing the love of God.
Highlights about Central Christian Church include the following:
• In addition to the Senior Minister position, we currently have full-time Worship and Youth ministers, Elementary Department Manager and a part-time Children's director.
• We currently have five elders that lead Central Christian. We also have ministry leaders that have responsibility for 9 different ministry areas.
• We dedicated an addition to the building in December 2002 which brought the total building capacity to over 54,000 square feet. The addition includes a large fellowship center that can seat approximately 600 individuals and has state-of-the-art multi-media equipment.
• We have two services on Sunday morning - one contemporary and the other
blended – with an attendance of approximately 450.
• We have a very strong Bible Study program on Sunday mornings.
• We offer Community Groups which include Bible study and fellowship in members’ homes.
• On Wednesday evenings we have a Family Night program that includes a meal, and classes for all ages, including adults.
• Rockford is located near the Illinois/Wisconsin border, 90 miles northwest of Chicago. Our facility is located on the east side of this 350,000 population metropolitan area.
A qualified candidate must believe the Bible is our one true and final authority for faith and practice, and be doctrinally sound in Restoration Movement beliefs. He must be an effective evangelist and teacher, who can humbly work with elders and other ministers in equipping the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ. He must enjoy working with people.
